Analysis of the efficacy of probiotics in patients with ulcerative colitis and intestinal barrier function

Abstract
Objective To analyze the efficacy of probiotics in patients with ulcerative colitis and its effect on intestinal barrier function. Methods A total of 160 patients with mild-to-moderate ulcerative colitis who were treated in our hospital from September 2016 to March 2018 were randomly divided into study group (80 cases) and control group (80 cases). The control group was given mesalazine treatment, and the study group was treated with combination of mesalazine and probiotics. Then the efficacy of the two groups were compared after treatment. Results The levels of D-lactate [(1.52±0.48)μg/ml] and L/M [(0.151±0.028)] in the study group after treatment were better than those in the control group (P<0.05); the levels of IFN-γ [(2.31±0.72)pg/ml], IL-6 [(9.34±3.05)pg/ml], TNF-α [(1.64±0.53)ng/ml] in the study group after treatment were better than those in the control group (P<0.05). The incidence of adverse reactions in the study group was 3.75％, which was lower than that in the control group (P<0.05). Conclusion The application of probiotics in patients with ulcerative colitis was effective, which could improve intestinal barrier function and reduce inflammatory reaction, with fewer adverse reactions, safe and reliable.关键词
