Abstract
Objective To observe the antipyretic effect on bacterial lipopolysaccharide (LPS)-induced rat fever model by observing the compatibility of Bupleurum-Huangqin decoction and Bupleurum-Huangqin decoction with saponins and polysaccharides removed. The effects were compared to explore the mechanism of action and their differences. Methods Forty rats were randomly divided into blank control group, model group, decoction group, and formula group, with 10 rats in each group. The model group, decoction group, and formula group used LPS at a dose of 80μg/kg.The model of fever in rats was induced by intraperitoneal injection, and the chemical composition of the Bupleurum-Huangqin decoction and Bupleurum-Huangqin decoction with saponins and polysaccharides removed were given to the two medication groups (the ratio of the original medicinal materials was 1:100),and the blank control group and the model group were given the same amount of normal saline. After the modeling was completed, the body temperature of the rats was continuously observed at 30,90,150,210,270,and 330 min.Observed the changes in body temperature of each group and calculated thechanges of body temperature. Results Compared with the model group, the △T values of the decoction group and the formula group were always at a lower level (P<0.05 or P<0.01),and the △T-time curve was significantly shifted downward. The body temperature change in the formulation group was relatively stable at 150-330 min,and △T was always at a lower level compared with the decoction group (P<0.05),especially at 90 min (P<0.01).Conclusion Bupleurum-Huangqin decoction has significant antipyretic effect, and obtains a more significant antipyretic effect after the chemical constituents of saponins and polysaccharides removed, which suggests that saponins and polysaccharides may have antagonistic effects.关键词
