摘要

Abstract

Short-chain fatty acids ( SCFAs) are mainly metabolites of dietary fiber fermented by intestinal flora. They include acetate, propionate, and butyrate. Recent studies have found that SCFAs play an important role in the prevention and treatment of inflammatory bowel disease, type 2 diabetes and obesity by regulating local and systemic oxidative stress-inflammation signals and the expression and secretion of related cytokines. This article reviews the origin, distribution, mecha-nism of these SCFAs and their effects on oxidative stress-inflammation in order to provide information for clinical and scientific research work.
