Biological Function of Chitosan and Its Application in Livestock and Poultry Production
摘要
Abstract
Chitosan is an active product converted from chitin by deacetylation, which is the only alkaline poly-saccharide in natural polysaccharidea. It is a kind of rich natural resource, characterized by safety, no residue, non-drug resistance and low cost of production. Chitosan has many biological functions such as improving ani-mal growth performance, enhancing the immunity, regulating fat metabolism, bacteria resistance and bacterio-stasis and improving the antioxidant capacity which is considered as a kind of green additive with broad devel-opment prospects in livestock and poultry production. This article reviewed the biological characteristics, physi-ological functions and application of chitosan in livestock and poultry production so as to provide the reference for its scientific application in livestock and poultry production.[Chinese Journal of Animal Nutrition, 2019, 31(3) :1037-1043]关键词
