Abstract
Frequency and polarization diversities with improved axial ratio bandwidth are achieved by designing a U-slot reconfigurable antenna with switchable patches.The operating frequency and polarization is electronically tuned by changing the state of PIN diodes,which is controlled by applied bias voltage.An antenna prototype is fabricated and measured for validation.Simulation and experimental results for return loss and radiation pattern are presented,which are in good agreement.The antenna offers two operating bands,viz.,1.67/2.42 GHz,and provides linear/circular polarization with significantly improved axial ratio bandwidth of 9.3 %.The designed antenna with frequency and polarization diversities could potentially improve the reliability and flexibility of wireless communication systems.关键词
