A Scientific Research Analysis of Library and Information Science Education in China

Abstract
[Purpose/Significance]In order to understand the scientific research situation of Library and Information Science education in China, a research about scientific capacity of Library and Information Science education in China was done. The research was analyzed from two dimensions: the scientific research productivity and the scientific research quality. This research is of reference significance for improving the level of Library and Information Science education in China. [Method/Process]Based on the results of the fourth round of subject evaluation, a quantitative analysis of the CSSCI and SCI/SSCI papers published by 25 institutions in the past 10 years was made. And these 25 institutions are institutions that have the right to grant the first level disciplines of Library Science and Information Science in China. [Result/Conclusion]On the aspect of scientific research productivity, the scientific productivity of colleges and universities shows an upward trend in the fluctuation and change, but there is a huge gap between the output levels of different universities, only some of them are outstanding. And on the aspect of scientific research quality, the distribution of institutions and periodicals of high quality papers is highly centralized. In domestic and foreign periodicals, the coauthor degree of highly cited papers is very low.关键词
