Effect of chitosan quaternary ammonium salt on the dyeing properties of leather

Abstract
In order to improve the dyeing performance of leather, chitosan quaternary ammonium salt was used in leather dyeing. The effects of chitosan quaternary ammonium salt finishing process on dye uptake, rubbing fastness of leather samples and dye concentration in dyeing wastewater were discussed, which were compared with the effect of chitosan assistant dyeing. The results showed that the application of quaternary ammonium salt of chitosan in leather dyeing could improve dye uptake, rubbing fastness of leather samples, and reduce the concentration of dyes in wastewater. When the dosage was 1.6％ (omf) , the effect was the best. Comparing different adding order, it was found that the dyeing assistant effect of quaternary ammonium salt of chitosan was better than that of chitosan in the later dyeing stage.关键词
