Clinical study on ocular vestibular evoked myogenic potential in Meniere's disease

Abstract
Objective To test and analyze the ocular vestibular-evoked myogenic potential (oVEMP)in patients with Meniere's disease (MD),and to explore the clinical characteristics of frequency-amplitude ratio of oVEMP in patients with Meniere's disease.Methods The oVEMP test was performed on 20 patients with Meniere's disease diagnosed in our department and 10 healthy volunteers (20 ears).The amplitude difference at the same frequency and the 1 000/500 Hz frequency amplitude ratio (FAR) parameters were compared.Results There was statistically significant difference in the FAR between the diseased ear in MD group and the healthy control group (P=-0.000),the diseased ear and the healthy ear in MD group:P=0.000,the healthy ear in MD group and the healthy control group:P=-0.100.There were no statistically significant differences in the amplitude at 1 000 Hz and 500 Hz between the diseased ear in MD group and the healthy control group (P＞0.05).Conclusion There is a significant abnormality in the frequency amplitude ratio of oVEMP 1 000/500 Hz in the diseased ear of patients with Meniere's disease,suggesting that the oval capsule function of MD patients is impaired.The frequency amplitude ratio ofoVEMP is valuable in the diagnosis and evaluation of Meniere's disease.关键词
