摘要
Abstract
Sapir-Whorf hypothesis covers two basic viewpoints:linguistic determinism (the strong version) and linguistic relativity (the weak version).This paper tries to explore the relationship between language and thinking through an overview of these two basic viewpoints covered by Sapir-Whorf Hypothesis, and a conclusion is drawn:language doesn't determine thought but influence it.Then the paper focuses on analyzing the deficiency of the strong version of this hypothesis, namely, language cannot fetter people's understanding of the objective world, neither can it determine people's outlook on the world, and human thinking has a broad common ground in perception, cognition, society and social psychology.关键词
