Abstract
Feather is a unique skin derivative of birds, and feather microstructure has strong stability and specificity among different species, which can provide evidence for the identification of species. In this paper, the microstructure of remix and rectrix of female and male Common Moorhen (Gallinula chloropus) were observed by scanning electron microscopy. The result showed that there were some differences in the number of ventral tooth, the number of hooked barbule and the number of cilia in the same part of feathers. And the difference analysis by SPSS22.0 showed that the three parameters from remex had extremely significant difference between the female and male Common Moorhen, however, the three parameters from rectrix had significant difference. So it was suggested that the sex should be considered when identifying Common Moorhen by using remix and rectrix.关键词
