Abstract

In order to understand the accumulation characteristics and influencing factors of soil organic carbon components in different farmlands in tropical regions, the content and distribution characteristics of soil organic carbon in the farmland and idle land soils (0-30 cm) for different years (A<3 years;3 years<B<8 years;8 years<C<10 years) were analyzed, which were from different farmland in Ding'an County, Hainan Island. The results revealed that: with the increase of years of land idle time, the contents of soil total organic carbon and soil mineral-associated organic carbon both decreased. With the increase of soil depth, the surface accumulation of total organic carbon in soil gradually decreased. Correlation analysis indicated that there was a significant correlation between soil organic carbon content and mineral-associated organic carbon content (P < 0.01).In 0-30 cm layer, the average content of particulate organic carbon was as follows: farmland>abandoned land A>abandoned land B>abandoned land C, and under the same mode of land use, from the point of different soil profile, the average content of particulate organic carbon was surface layer (0-10 cm)> middle layer (10-20 cm)> lower layer (20-30 cm).In addition, the correlation analysis showed that, there was a significant linear correlation between particulate organic carbon and mineral-associated organic carbon content in the soil (P < 0.01). It is concluded that, with the increase of the years of abandoned land (10 years), the contents of total soil organic carbon, mineral-associated organic carbon and particulate organic carbon were all gradually reduced. Therefore, the farmland has high carbon sequestration potential.
