桃金娘叶片的解剖结构及其生态适应性研究
Study on the Anatomical Structure of Rhodomyrtus tomentosa Leaf Blade and Its Ecological Adaptability

Abstract
[Objective]This study aimed to reveal the relevance between the anatomical structure of Rhodomyrtus tomentosa leaf blade and its ecological significance, which might provide anatomical data for the protection, introduction, development and utilization of myrtle resources.[Method]The paraffin-sectioning followed by light microscopy as well as sodium hydroxide (NaOH) segregation was employed to investigate the anatomical structure of R.tomentosa leaf blade.[Result]The leaves of R.tomentosa belonged to dorsiventral leaf, with thicken epidermal keratinocytes.The lower epidermis had dense epidermal hairs, while there were many secretory cavities in the mesophyll tissues.In the veins, the vascular and mechanical tissues were highly developed, and tannin was detected to be widely-distributed in the epidermis, mesophyll tissues and vein elementary tissues.[Conclusion]These data suggest that R.tomentosa can be defined as a'xerophytic mesophyte', whose leaves have strong drought resistance, disease resistance and insect resistance.关键词
