Abstract

The carbon coated Fe3O4 nanocomposites were fabricated by using hydrothermal reaction of Fe (NO3)3· 9 H2O and glucose followed by thermal annealing. The influence of different C/Fe mole ratio on the morphology and electrochemical properties for the materials were studied. The researches show that when the C/Fe molar ratio of 10, the carbon coated Fe3O4 nanoparticles have integrated carbon coating structure, good dispersion and uniform size distribution with the best electrochemical performance. When used as the anode materials for the lithium-ion batteries, the reversible specific capacity is achieved to 741.5 mAh/g at current density of 100 mA/g even after 100 cycles, and the capacity retention rate can reach 65.9% as well.
