Abstract
In the paper, a data processing scheme applied on the display driver chip is proposed, which solves the problem of the excessive area of display drive chip in LCOS micro display system under high resolution.This scheme converts the input data in RGB (format) to YCBCr (format).The YCBCr data is stored after the compression and decompress it when it is displayed.Then it will be restored to RGB image display by interpolation process.For the 1920×1080 resolution, the scheme saves 4 MB of data amount of drive chip.Taking an example of TSMC Memory Compiler at 65 nm, the estimated saving area is about 41.5 mm2, accounting for 31.8%of the total area.The size of the driving chip is reduced from 11.4 mm×11.5 mm to 9.4 mm×9.5 mm.关键词
