摘要

Abstract

This experiment was conducted to study the effects of stocking density on growth performance and serum free amino acid contents of piglets. A total of 720 healthy 28-day-old Large White×Landrace piglets with the body weight of (7.72 ± 0.29) kg were randomly divided into 3 groups with 6 replicates (pens) in each group. The 3 groups were control group (30 piglets per pen), high density group (40 piglets per pen) and very high density group (50 piglets per pen), the stocking densities of the 3 groups were 0. 91, 0. 68 and 0.55 m2 per head. The experiment period was 28 days. The results showed that compared with the control group, increasing stocking density significantly reduced the average daily gain and average daily feed intake of piglets (P<0.05), significantly increased the ratio of feed to gain (P<0.05), and the diarrhea rate had an increasing trend (0.05≤P<0.10); with the stocking density increasing, the contents of serine (Ser), arginine (Arg) and methionine (Met) in serum of piglets were significantly decreased (P<0.05), and the contents of phenylalanine (Phe) and tyrosine (Tyr) in serum had a decreasing trend (0.05≤P<0.10). The results show that increasing stocking density reduces the growth performance of piglets and reduces the contents of free amino acids in serum of piglets which are associated with metabolic processes and immune function.
