摘要

Abstract

C4F7 N/CO2 mixture, as an environment-friendly insulating gas, is expected to replace SF6 in the future. However, there is no research on the surface flashover characteristics of the insulator in C4F7 N/CO2 mixtures. Consequently, we established a surface flashover experimental platform in order to investigate the surface flashover characteristics of the insulator in uniform field in C4F7 N/CO2 mixtures under the lightening impulse voltage. Moreover, we put forward a gas mixing method based on PRSV equation, investigated the influences of molar fraction, gas pressure, creepage length and diameters of the insulator on the surface flashover characteristics of insulator, and compared them with those of SF6 under the same conditions.The study shows that the surface flashover voltage of the insulator in C4F7 N/CO2 gas mixtures will increase as the gas pressure and molar fraction of C4F7 N increase with a saturation growth trend. When the molar fractions of C4F7 N are 5%, 9%, and 13%, the surface flashover voltage of C4F7 N/CO2 gas mixture can reach more than 70%, 80% and 90% of those of pure SF6 under same conditions, respectively. Under the experimental conditions, the flashover field basically stabilizes with the increase of the distance along the surface, and the effect of insulator diameter on the flashover voltage along the surface can be ignored. Moreover, the empirical formulas of surface flashover voltage are obtained.
