摘要

Abstract

Micromixer is an important component in microfluidic system, and used very frequently in chemical analysis, biomedical science, and so on. A new pulsatile micromixer with expansion-contraction microchannel was designed on the basis of the analysis of the effective approaches to enhance mixing efficiency. Numerical simulations were carried out to reveal the mechanism and regularity of mixing enhancement for various flow parameters and geometrical parameters by software reengineering of Fluent 12.1. Numerical results show that, the most efficient mixing happens when the phase difference is 180°, velocity ratio is 2, and Strouhal number ranging is from 0.2 to 0.4. In addition, the experimental results have good agreements with the numerical results. The results show the validity of numerical model and numerical result.
