Abstract

Under the circumstance of ultra-low temperature in medical, the theoretical cycle performance of the cascade cycle with R404A as the high temperature cycle working fluid, R508B or R23 as the low temperature cycle working fluid was studied. Through calculation, the influence of high temperature condensing temperature, high temperature evaporation temperature and the temperature difference of condensing evaporator on system COP is simulated. It is concluded that the COP of the cascade system decreases with the increase of the condensing temperature of the high temperature cycle. With the increase of the evaporation temperature of the high temperature cycle, the COP of the cascade system first rises and then decreases. With the temperature difference of condensing evaporator rises, the COP of the cascade system goes down gradually. In general, R508B should be given priority as a low-temperature refrigerant.
