Abstract
This paper combs the mechanism of spatial agglomeration of labor and economic growth under the framework of the new economic geography theory, that is, spatial agglomeration of labor affects economic growth through positive local market effects, price index effects, knowledge spillover effects and negative market competition.Due to different conditions of each effect, spatial agglomeration of labor promotes economic growth in the beginning. After reaching a certain level, the cost of agglomeration rises and exceeds the profit, so the agglomeration will not conducive to economic growth. Therefore, this paper puts forward the hypothesis:there is an "inverted U" relationship between spatial aggregation of labor and economic growth.Through the mathematical formula derivation, by constructing the ordinary static panel, the common dynamic panel, the spatial Dubin model and the spatial dynamic panel model, as well as the GMM and other estimation methods, the hypothesis is verified once again, that is, there is indeed a ceiling effect, affirming that spatial agglomeration of labor has a moderate range for promoting economic growth.关键词
