The levels of IL-2, IL-4, IL-6, IL-10 and IL-17A in serum of medication naive patients with schizophrenia

Abstract
Objective:To investigate the levels interleukin 2 (IL-2), IL-4, IL-6, IL-10 and IL-17 Alevels in serum of medication naive patients with schizophrenia and the correlation between serum interleukin levels and symptoms.Methods:A total of 38 cases of schizophrenia patients admitted to psychiatric department of our hospital were selected as study object from March 2015 to March 2017.Meanwhile, 30 apparently our hospital health care workers were selected as a control group.Serum concentrations of IL were detected by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay, and the severity of symptoms was assessed using the positive and negative symptom scales.Results:The level of serum IL-6 in the study group was significantly higher than that of the control group (t=2.343, P<0.05).The remaining serum IL levels were not significant different between the two groups.The serum IL-6 level was positively correlated with the total score of PANSS, that mainly related to negative symptoms and general pathological symptoms (r=0.470, 0.343, 0.335;P<0.05).Conclusion:In the early stages of the onset of schizophrenia, the body has inflammatory reaction activated state.Serum IL-6 levels are expected to be peripheral immune markers for early diagnosis of schizophrenia.关键词
