Asynchronous embryo transfer technique in mice

摘要

Abstract

Objective:To investigate the asynchronous embryo transfer in mice.Methods:Preimplantation embryos at different developmental stages were asynchronously transferred into the unilateral oviduct or uterine horn of pseudopregnant recipient mice with different post-coitum days,and the effect of asynchronous embryo transfer on success rate of embryo transfer and newborn birth weight was evaluated.Results:All of the zygotes,2-cell embryos,morula,and blastocysts could be transferred into unilateral oviduct of pseudopregnant 0.5 day recipients and developed to live newborns 19 days after embryo transfer.The birth rates of the transferred zygotes,2-cell embryos,morula,and blastocysts were 56.3%,62.5%,59.4%,and 58.3%,respectively.Morula and blastocysts could still be nonsurgically transferred into unilateral uterine horns of pseudopregnant 2.5 day recipients and developed into live newborns 17 days after embryo transfer.The birth rates of the transferred morula and blastocysts were 57.5% and 62.5%,respectively.The birth weight of newborns from the transferred blastocysts into oviducts of pseudopregnant 0.5 day recipients was significantly increased than that of newborns from the transferred blastocysts into uterine horns of pseudopregnant 2.5 day recipients.Conclusion:If embryos at different developmental stages are transferred into recipients with the same post-coitum days,the pregnant recipients would have the same gestation.If embryos at the same developmental stage are transferred into recipients with different post-coitum days,the pregnant recipients would have different gestation.The pregnant recipients with short post-coitum days have longer gestation and significantly increased birth weight of newborns.
