Abstract
When the pantograph passing through the segmented insulator, due to the unevenness of the line and the structural characteristics of the segmented insulator, arc often generates, because of the hundreds voltage at both ends of the segmented insulator, the arc is always difficult to extinguish, stagnation time too long will cause ablation damage to the insulator and affect the safe operation of the railway system.The transferring of arc in the segmented insulator and the evolution of the arc root have an important influence on the arc burning extinguishing performance.Based on the theory of magnetohydrodynamics (MHD), a mathematical model of the arc of the pantograph passing the segmented insulator was established.Through the analysis of the pressure distribution, electromagnetic force, temperature field and voltage, the main reason of the arc transferring was obtained:the action of the airflow field and the electromagnetic force, and the ablation of the middle section of the arc angle is slight during the arc transfer process, however, the arc root reach the tip then stop the wide-range motion, causing the top of the arcing horn ablated severely.关键词
