摘要

Abstract

Objective To investigate the effects of extract of Periplaneta americana (APA) on the vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) in rats with portal hypertension.Methods The rat portal hypertension models was prepared by adopting CCl4 and alcohol.After 9 weeks, and the portal vein pressure in each group was measured by using the direct manometric method.The expression level of VEGF in gastric tissue was detected by immunohistochemistry, and the liver tissue morphology changes were observed.Results The portal vein pressure of the model group was significantly increased compared with the normal group (P<0.01) , the venous pressure in the APA group and propranolol group was significantly increased compared with the normal group (P<0.01) , but was significantly decreased compared with the model group (P<0.01) ;the expression of gastic tissue VEGF in the APA1 and APA2 groups was decreased, moreover the pathological morphology of injured liver was significantly improved.Conclusion The APA not only can improve the hyperdynamic status of portal system, its treatment effect is superior to that of propranolol, moreover reduces the VEGF expression in gastric tissue and improves the pathomorphism of injured liver, its role in treating portal hypertension of liver cirrhosis deserves further study.
