Abstract
In this paper, we proposes a new scheme for improving the error vector magnitude (EVM) and bit error rate (BER) performance in intensity modulated/direct detection (IM/DD) universal filtering multi-carrier (UMFC) systems.As for our scheme, a non-uniform quantization DAC is used for quantization error (SQNR).Through simulation, the feasibility of this scheme is verified in a 10-Gb/s, 16-OQAM modulated UMFC system (4-and 5-bit DACs with a fiber transmission distance of 20 km).Simulation results show that, compared with the uniform quantization method, our scheme can greatly improve the system performance.With the same system performance, the required bit-bit resolution based on the signal distribution quantization method is one bit less than the uniform quantization method.关键词
