Abstract

To improve the efficiency of decoloring L-ornithine fermentation broth, the condition of decolorization was studied.The chemical property of pigments in fermentation broth was confirmed by macroporous resin adsorption.With the analyses of physical structures and zero charge points of activated carbons, the activated carbon with excellent decolorization capacity under approximate neutral condition was selected.Then, the effects of pH, temperature, time and activated carbon dosage on decolorization under static conditions were discussed.On this basis, the continuous decolorization of L-ornithine fermentation broth with an activated carbon column and the regeneration of activated carbon using two-step desorption were studied.The fermentation broth with 45 BV was processed with the activated carbon column, the decolorization efficiency was more than 97%, the decolored solution was almost colorless, and the loss ratio of L-ornithine was less than 1 %.The regenerative effect of activated carbon was stable.
