Abstract

Basalt fiber can effectively improve property of concrete material.However, there are some divergences for its effects on concrete property.Therefore, in this paper, the effects of various fiber contents and sizes on concrete strength and durability are investigated, and properties of chopped basalt fiber doped concrete materials are characterized.In the research, compressive strength and flexural strength are used as mechanical indexes, while resistance to chloride-ion penetration and early-age shrinkage are used as durability indexes.Results show that although the contribution of short-cut basalt fiber to compressive strength of concrete is not obvious, flexural strength of concrete increases significantly with the increase of the fiber content.When the volume fraction of basalt fiber reaches0.12%, the flexural sstrength of concrete increases by about 25%.The basalt fiber with longer length and larger
