Abstract

Mushroom scrap is rich in nutrients such as nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium, and other nutrients, which could be used as organic fertilizers for vegetable cultivation. In the experiment, six treatments were set according to the mass of mushroom scrap and the soil, including 0 g +3 250 g (control), 50 g +3 200 g, 100 g + 3 150 g, 150 g + 3 100 g, 200 g + 3 050 g, and 250 g + 3 000 g, the indices of height, stem thickness, root length, and yield of water spinach were measured, and the optimum dosage of mushroom scrap in the production of water spinach was screened. The results showed that the height, stem thickness, root length and yield of water spinach in the treatments with 50, 100, 150 g mushroom scrap per pot increased, and the best treatment was added with 100 g mushroom scrap per pot, which the yield of water spinach increased by 40.9% compared with the control, indicating that the optimum ratio of the mushroom scrap and the soil was 100∶3 150. The plant height, stem thickness, root length and yield of water spinach grown in the pots with 200, 250 g of mushroom scrap were all lower than those of the control, which indicated that the high application of mushroom scrap had an inhibitory effect on the growth of water spinach.
