Abstract

Facing the problem of big data processing in the new era of communication, two complementary architectures, software-defined networking (SDN) and network function virtualization (NFV), are gradually being developed to solve some network problems more comprehensively.However, this new structure is still unknown, and it is uncertain whether it can really bring about cost savings.Currently, testing future networks requires a lot of costs.Compared with the existing 4 G network hardware technology, we establish a mathematical model based on the network function of virtualization.Taking the number of sessions supported by the router and the number of service providers as various considerations, we adopt parameters with reliability to simulate some of the multivariable factors in the actual problem, abstracting the complex practical problems in mathematics, v erifying the critical value of the number of sessions supported by a certain router.When higher than this critical value, the required network cost drops sharply, far lower than the cost from the traditional network.At the same time, it is also verified that the more the number of service providers, the more the cost savings, which demonstrates the cost-effectiveness of adopting SDN/NFV technology.
