Influence of Chloride Ion on Chemical Oxygen Demand Analysis and Its Elimination Method

摘要

Abstract

Chemical oxygen demand (COD) is a common index reflecting water pollution, whether it can achieve the accurate test is very important.In this study, the effect of co-existing high concentration chlorine in water on COD measurement by potassium dichromate method was experimentally quantified, and the elimination effect of mercury sulfate was verified experimentally.The results show that the degree of influence of chlorine on COD test is linear with its concentration, and mercury sulfate can eliminate the influence of low concentration of chlorine on COD test.The study results can provide some reference for the accurate analysis of COD.
