Abstract

The dynamic surface tensions of ethanediol bis-secoctyl sulfo succinate (GSS271), 1, 3-propanediol bis-secoctyl sulfo succinate (GSS371) and 1, 4-butanediol bis-secoctyl sulfo succinate (GSS471) aqueous solutions with different concentration were investigated using the maximum bubble pressure method. The process of DST changing with time was described in detail and the influence of connecting group on DST was studied. The n, t*, ti, tmand R1/2of DST were obtained by Rosen model. Meanwhile, the adsorption mechanism was discussed by Ward-Tordai equation. The results showed that the shorter the connection group, the better the dynamic surface activity of GSS surfactant. When c<cmc, the GSS surfactants were controlled by pure diffusion at the initial stage of adsorption, and were hybrid diffusion-kinetics control at the later stage of adsorption.
