广西重型β地中海贫血患者贫血和铁超载现状调查
Investigation on anemia and iron overload in patients with β-thalassemia major in Guangxi

Abstract
Objective To investigate the anemia and iron overload in patients with β-thalassemia major (TM) in Guangxi, and to provide basic data and reference for clinical treatment aiming at improving the quality of life of the patients. Methods From 2011 to 2017, data of 1 029 TM patients in 923rd Hospital of PLA were collected from Management Software of Thalassemia. The levels of hemoglobin (Hb) and serum ferritin (SF) in the patients were measured for 12 119 times and 4 834 times, respectively. The average Hb and SF in each year were calculated. Hb and SF in patients of different ages were analyzed with SPSS software. Results Pretransfuison Hb level of>90 g/L, (60-90) g/L, (30-60) g/L and <30 g/L were 28.9％ (297/1 029), 49.1％ (505/1 029), 19.4％ (200/1 029) and 2.6％ (27/1 029), respectively. There was no significant correlation between average Hb level and age or year. Iron overload and severe iron overload (SF>2500 ng/mL) was identified in 87.3％ (898/1 029) and 46.8％ (482/1 029) of TM patients, respectively; the average SF level increased together with the increase of age. Conclusion The treatment status of TM patients in Guangxi is worse than expected. Regular transfusion and iron chelator therapy are in urgent need to be strengthened.关键词
