Hot research topics in metabolic and bariatric surgery
摘要
Abstract
Metabolic and bariatric surgery aims to restrict food intake and nutrient absorption as well as to induce metabolic regulation by reconstructing anatomy of gastrointestinal tract. Currently, there are a few hot research topics in the field of metabolic and bariatric surgery, including the exact mechanisms of diabetes remission by bariatric surgery, the relationship between obesity and tumor, evidences of metabolic surgery in low body weight patients, individualized surgery design and choice of surgery, as well as clinical database establishment and comprehensive research based upon such database. And all the unsolved issues are related to the position and development of metabolic and bariatric surgery. Therefore, during the progressive period of metabolic and bariatric surgery, it is important to strengthen basic and clinical research, especially translational studies which integrate both basic science and clinical practice, in order to make the development of metabolic and bariatric surgery healthy and orderly.关键词
