摘要
Abstract
Single side deafness (SSD) is a special hearing loss with one ear affected while the other ear has normal hearing. It has a high incidence in population. More and more studies has showed that the SDD patients. have extensive functional and structural plasticity in brain regions, although they only has partial auditory deprivation. The related areas include auditory cortex, and also other sensory areas, such as visual cortex. Furthermore, plasticity in SSD occurrs even in the brain area in charge of advanced cognitive function, which could have influence on the advanced cognitive function of patients such as speech, learning and social abilities.关键词
