Abstract
Objective To investigate the clinical efficacy of calcitonin combined with bisphosphonate in the treatment of postmenopausal osteoporosis in women. Methods A total of 120 women with postmenopausal osteoporosis admitted to Department of Orthopaedics of Yangjiang Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine from October 2015 to October 2017 were randomly divided into observation group (n=60) and control group (n=60). Patients in the control group were treated with risedronate. The patients in the observation group were treated with salmon calcitonin and risedronate. The changes of bone mineral density and bone metabolism index before and after treatment were compared between the two groups. Results Before treatment, there was no significant difference in mineral density of lumbar vertebrae (L1~4), femoral neck bone, Wards trigone of the femur between the two groups (P>0.05). After treatment, the bone mineral density of lumbar vertebrae (L1~4) and Wards trigone of the femur of patients in the observation group were significantly higher than those in control group, and the difference between the groups was statistically significant (P<0.05). There was no significant difference in BGP, BALP and TRAP-5b between the two groups before treatment (P>0.05). After treatment, BGP, BALP and TRACP-5b were significantly lower in the two groups, and the difference between the two groups was statistically significant (P<0.05). Conclusion Calcitonin combined with bisphosphonate can significantly reduce bone turnover rate and stimulate the increase of bone mineral density in postmenopausal women with osteoporosis.关键词
