Introduction of Applications for Multi-attribute Utility of Health Utilities Index Instruments

Abstract
The multi-attribute utility (MAU) instrument has become an important instrument for measuring health state utility (HSU). As one of the six adult MAU instruments, the health utilities index (HUI) instrument is rarely used in China. To develop the HUI instrument in China. HUI instrument is firstly summarized. Then the origin and development, health condition description system, utility score system, and minimal difference in clinical importance of HUI instrument are organaized. Lastly, it is overviewed that application of HUI instrument in evaluation of health economics and its prospect of application. The purpose of the study is to provide basic support for health economic evaluations, especially for health utility measurements and cost-utility analysis in China.关键词
