Abstract
OBJECTIVE: To probe into the effects of tranexamic acid on blood loss in elderly patients with old femoral neck fractures and osteoporosis undergoing hip replacement. METHODS: Totally 80 elderly patients with old femoral neck fractures and osteoporosis admitted into Hubei Gucheng County People's Hospital in 2017 were extracted to be divided into observation group and control group via the random number table, with 40 cases in each group. Patients in the observation group received intravenous infusion of tranexamic acid + 0.9％ sodium chloride injection after hip arthroplasty, while the control group received intravenous infusion of 0.9％ sodium chloride injection after hip arthroplasty. The total blood loss, intraoperative blood loss, postoperative drainage, blood transfusion, blood transfusion rate and hemoglobin level at 24 h after surgery of two groups were observed. RESULTS: The total blood loss, intraoperative blood loss and postoperative drainage were significantly lower in the observation group than in the control group, and the difference was statistically significant (P＜0.05). The blood transfusion volume, blood transfusion rate and hemoglobin level at 24 h after surgery in the observation group were significantly better than those in the control group, and the difference was statistically significant (P＜0.05). CONCLUSIONS: For elderly patients with old femoral neck fractures and osteoporosis undergoing hip replacement, intravenous infusion of tranexamic acid can effectively control the blood loss during and after surgery, reduce the blood transfusion and blood transfusion rate.关键词
