Abstract
Objective To investigate the effect of nursing interventions of integrated traditional Chinese and western medicine on sleep disorders and delirium in ICU patients. Methods Totally 80 ICU patients with sleep disorders were randomly divided into the observation group and the control group, with 40 cases in each group. Patients of both two groups received routine care during treatment, and those in the observation group were given nursing interventions based on traditional Chinese medicine. The sleep quality of patients was evaluated by Richards Campbell Sleep Questionnaire (RCSQ). The incidence of ICU delirium and related duration were compared between two groups. Results Patients in the observation group achieved higher total score and scores in each dimensions of RCSQ than those in the control group (P ＜ 0. 05). There were 2(5. 00％) patients in the observation group and 11(27. 50％) patients in the control group with the development of delirium, and the related duration was (5. 50 ± 3. 10) h and (7. 90 ± 3. 40) h, respectively (P ＜ 0. 05). Conclusion Nursing interventions based on integrated Traditional Chinese and Western medicine can effectively improve sleep quality of patients with ICU sleep disorders, and reduce the incidence of ICU delirium.关键词
