摘要

Abstract

Aiming at the problem of DC link voltage balance control for modular multi-level converters,a capacitive voltage balance control strategy was presented,which was applicable to any multilevel DC/AC converter formed by a single set of series-connected capacitors implementing the DC link. The new control scheme had no limit on the number of independent capacitors and branches of the DC link and could be used in single-phase or multi-phase systems and could be used in full modulation range and full load conditions. By deriving the small signal mathematical model of the relevant control loop,the optimal compensator design criterion was derived. Finally,the control strategy was applied to the four-level three-phase DC/AC converter. The simulation and experimental results show that the capacitor voltage can be well balanced with the controller,and the effectiveness of the control strategy has been verified.
