Abstract
Traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) is an important embodiment of Chinese culture, a treasure of Chinese nation, and a feature and advantage of the Chinese medical system. It has also played an important role in China's health cooperations and exchanges with other countries and international organizations in recent years. As TCM becomes more familiar and accepted in Western countries, it is like a plant species that has been introduced overseas: it is becoming rapidly disseminated and localized in its new homeland. With the diversity of cultural sources, the United States (US) is in the forefront of the diversification and localization of TCM, and has become an important force for acupuncture development in the world. This article studies and discusses the localization of TCM in the US on the basis of relevant research on its localization in Japan and South Korea.关键词
