Dynamic changes of plasma fibrinogen and fibrin monomer during pregnancy and their clinical implication

Abstract
Objective To investigate the dynamic changes of plasma fibrinogen(FIB) and fibrin monomer(FM) during the normal gestation period and their clinical implication. Methods Plasma fibrinogen, monomer and D- dimer concentrations were measured with Clauss assay and immunoturbidimetry respectively in 124 normal pregnant women at first trimester(12~15 weeks), second trimester(22~25 weeks) and third trimester(35~40 weeks); and 100 non- pregnant women (controls). Plasma prothrombin time (PT), activated partial thromboplastin time (APTT) and thrombin time (TT) were also analyzed. Results Compared with non- pregnant group, plasma levels of FIB, FM and D- dimer were significantly higher in pregnant women at the first trimester. During the third trimester, PT, APTT and TT were significantly decreased (P<0.01). There were significant differences in plasma FMand D- dimer levels in pregnant women at different gestation periods(P<0.01). Conclusion The plasma levels of FIB, FMand D- dimer in normal pregnant women are dynamically changed, which may be used to predict the coagulation status during the gestation period.关键词
