Effects of Simvastatin Combined with Azithromycin on Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease with Pulmonary Hypertension in Older Patients

摘要

Abstract

Objective To investigate the effects of simvastatin combined with azithromycin in the treatment of chronic ob-structive pulmonary disease (COPD) with pulmonary hypertension. Methods 80 older patients who suffered from COPD complicated with pulmonary hypertension between January 2014 and December 2016 were selected. The patients were randomly divided into the control group and the observation group. The control group received oral simvastatin. The observation group received oral simvastatin and azithromycin enteric-coated tablets. The pulmonary function, PaO2 and SaO2 and 6 minutes walking distance in the two groups were recorded after 6 months of treatment. Results After the treatment, compared with the control group, the mean pulmonary arter-y pressure in the observation group was decreased significantly ( P < 0.05 ), while FVC and FEV1 was increased significantly (P<0.05). PaO2, SaO2 and 6 minutes walking distance in the observation group were higher than those in the control group after treatment (P<0.05). Conclusion The combination of simvastatin and azithromycin may enhance the lung function and reduce the mean pulmonary artery pressure in patients with COPD complicated with pulmonary hypertension.
