Abstract
Objective To explore the status and changes of astigmatism in preschool children, and to provide the basis for the correction of astigmatism and the early prevention and treatment of amblyopia. Methods 541 children from 6 months to 6 years old were examined by Spot vision screener under natural condition. The astigmatism type, degree and axial were analyzed statistically. Results The rate of astigmatism was 73. 66％ in 477 (797 eyes) of 541 children. Among them, 320 cases of binocular astigmatism and 157 cases of monocular astigmatism. Mixed astigmatism (38. 27％) and compound hyperopia astigmatism (34. 13％) were dominant, significantly higher than other types of astigmatism (P＜0.05). Light astigmatism 478 eyes (59.97％) were significantly higher than moderate and high astigmatism (P＜0.05). Astigmatism with the rule 501 eyes (62. 86％), significantly higher than astigmatism against the rule and oblique astigmatism (P＜0. 05). Referring to the recommended value of Spot diopter, in 477 cases (797 eyes) astigmatism, 38 eyes (4. 77％) need to be referral. Conclusions The rate of astigmatism in 6 months to 6 years old children is high, mostly light astigmatism, mainly mixed astigmatism and compound hyperopia astigmatism, most of them are astigmatism with the rule. Children with obvious abnormality of astigmatism should be referral in time to prevent amblyopia. Spot vision screener can quickly, conveniently and effectively screen the astigmatism of preschool children.关键词
