Advances in the Role of IL-33/ST2 Pathway in Tumorigenesis and Tumor Progression

Abstract
Interleukin-33 (IL-33) is a new member of the IL-1cytokine family found in recent years. It can function as both intracellular transcription factors and extracellular cytokines. IL-33 and its receptor ST2 mediate a variety of physiologi-cal and pathological conditions, such as chronic inflammation, autoimmune diseases, allergic immune response andtissue re-pair. In recent years, there are a large number of studies showing that IL-33 is closely related to the occurrence and develop-ment of tumors, but the mechanism of its precise role in tumorigenesis and tumor immune response has not yet been clearly illustrated. In this review, the role of IL-33/ST2 in tumorigenesis, tumor development and tumor microenvironment in recent years is reviewed, in order to provide a new strategy forusing IL-33 as a target for tumor diagnosis and immunotherapy.关键词
