Compliance of children with atopic dermatitis treated by skin care agents

Abstract
Objective To investigate the compliance of children with atopic dermatitis (AD) treated by skin care agents. Methods 2–14 years old children who were diagnosed with AD from May, 2018 to February, 2019 were included. For each child, one primary care-giving parent was asked to complete the general condition questionnaire form. Every patient was recommended to apply skin care agents twice a day; and the important role that repair the abnormal barrier was explained. Two weeks from then, the parents were contacted via telephone and asked questions from the survey. Results 62 children were included in this study. 28％ of the parents included skin care agents when questioned about the treatment protocols; when specifically asked, 83％. 56％ of the parents were able to recall the reasons for using the skin care agents. 40％ of subjects adhered to apply skin care agents every day. Conclusion The compliance of children with AD treated by skin care agents is very low. The patients and families need more guidance in their treatment.关键词
