Individualized Intervention Based on Personal Files in Postopervative Management of Empty-nest Elderly with Gastric Cancer

Abstract
Objective To explore the application of individualized intervention based on personal files in management of empty-nest elderly with gastric cancer after surgery. Methods From January 2014 to March 2016, 56 empty-nest older patients with gastric cancer undergoing surgery in our hospital were selected. The patients were randomly divided into the control group and the observation group according to random number table, with 28 cases in each group. The control group received conventional treatment, while the observation group received individualized intervention based on personal files. The therapeutic effects were analyzed. Self-rating depression scale (SDS) and self-rating anxiety scale (SAS) were used to evaluate the depression and anxiety. European or-ganization for research and treatment of cancer (EORTC) QLQ-C30 was used to evaluate the quality of life. The postoperative com-plications and hospitalization time were recorded. Results The excellent and good treatment rate of patients in the observation group was higher than that in the control group (P<0.05). The EORTC QLQ-C30 evaluation showed that the scores of overall function, emotional function, body function, role function and cognitive function in the observation group were higher than those in the control group (P<0.05). The scores of SAS and SDS in the observation group were lower than those in the control group (P<0.05). The incidence of postoperative complications and the average hospitalization time in the observation group were lower than those in the con-trol group (P<0.05). Conclusion The individualized intervention based on personal files is helpful to the recovery of empty-nest older patients with gastric cancer undergoing surgery, reduces the negative emotions and improves the quality of life.关键词
