Abstract
Blood glucose homeostasis plays an important role in various physiological functions of animals. Fla?vanols is a kind of bioflavonoids derived from plants. Studies have proved that flavanols can maintain blood glucose homeostasis in insulin resistant animals. The mechanisms may involve regulating digestion and absorp?tion efficiency of intestinal carbohydrates, increasing the activity of glucagon like peptide?1, promoting insulin secretion in islet beta cells, enhancing the efficiency of liver glycogen synthesis and decreasing inflammatory reaction to protect insulin signal transduction pathway from disruption. This paper briefly reviewed the regula?tion of flavanols on blood glucose homeostasis in insulin resistant animal and its mechanisms, and aimed to pro?vide a basis for its application in animal husbandry and clinical treatment.[ Chinese Journal of Animal Nutri?tion, 2019, 31(8) :3431?3437]关键词
