Effects of Heat Stress on Feed Intake and Rumen Function of Ruminants

Abstract
The rumen is an important digestive organ for ruminants, and the structure and function of the ru?men are affected by heat stress induced by high temperature environment. This article reviewed the effects of heat stress on the rumen structure and function of ruminants, and expounded the effects of heat stress on feed intake, physiological indexes of the rumen and rumination, pH value, ammonia nitrogen concentration, vola?tile fatty acids concentration, rumen microbial bacteria and methane production of ruminants, in order to ex?pand the knowledge of changes in rumen structure and function of ruminants under heat stress.[ Chinese Jour?nal of Animal Nutrition, 2019, 31(8) :3448?3455]关键词
