Abstract
β?glucan is a type of biological cell wall component widely distributed in nature. It’s made from the aggregation of glucose. Different sources and structures of glucan exhibit different physiological functions. The microbial source β?glucan, which is linked by β?1,3 and β?1,6 glycosidic bonds, has an effective immunoreg?ulatory function and has a good application prospect in livestock production. Based on the research results in re?cent years, this paper reviewed the research on the structure and function of β?glucan and its application in ani?mal husbandry, in order to provide reference for the application of β?1,3/1,6?glucan in livestock production.
