Effects of Different Zinc Sources on Growth Performance, Serum Biochemical Indices and Trace Element Contents in Serum and Hepatopancreas of Genetic Improvement of Farmed Tilapia

Abstract
The purpose of this experiment was to study the effects of different zinc sources [ zinc sulfate mono?hydrate ( ZnSO4) , zinc glycinate ( Zn?Gly) and ( enteric?type Zn?Gly) on the growth performance, antioxi?dant capacity, fat metabolism and antioxidant related trace elements copper, iron, manganese and zinc contents in serum and hepatopancreas of genetic improvement of farmed tilapia ( GIFT). A total of 240 GIFT with the initial body weight of (47.54±0.84) g were randomly divided into 4 groups with 3 replicates per group and 20 tilapia per replicate. Tilapia in control group were fed a basal feed ( zinc content was 72.22 mg/kg) , and those in experimental groups were fed the basal diet supplemented with 40 mg/kg ( as zinc) of enteric?type Zn?Gly, Zn?Gly and ZnSO4, respectively. The experiment lasted for 40 days. The results showed that, compared with the control group and the ZnSO4 group, the supplementation of enteric?type Zn?Gly could not only significantly enhance the weight gain rate ( WGR) and protein efficiency ratio ( PER) ( P<0.05), but also could signifi?cantly reduce the hepatosomatic index ( HSI) and the feed conversion rate ( FCR) ( P<0.05) ; the FCR of the Zn?Gly group was significantly decreased ( P<0.05) , and the PER was significantly increased ( P<0.05). Ser?um superoxide dismutase ( SOD) and alkaline phosphatase ( AKP) activities were not significantly affected by different zinc sources ( P>0.05). However, serum malondialdehyde ( MAD) content of the enteric?type Zn?Gly group and the Zn?Gly group was significantly lower than that of the control group ( P<0.05). The serum total cholesterol ( T?CHO) content of the enteric?type Zn?Gly group was significantly higher than that of the other groups ( P<0.05) , and the triglyceride ( TG) content was significantly higher than that of the control group and the ZnSO4 group (P<0.05). There were no significant effects in the contents of copper, iron and manganese in serum of each group ( P>0.05). When compared with the control group and ZnSO4 group, the supplementation of enteric?type Zn?Gly significantly increased the zinc content in serum and hepatopancreas ( P<0.05). The results suggested that diets supplemented with enteric?type Zn?Gly can significantly improve the growth performance of GIFT, increase the antioxidant capacity, promote fat metabolism, and increase the zinc content in serum and hepatopancreas. Moreover, the enteric?type Zn?Gly may be better than Zn?Gly on the growth?promoting.[ Chinese Journal of Animal Nutrition, 2019, 31(8) :3690?3698]关键词
