Abstract

To solve the problem of excessive vibration and even fatigue fracture of instrument pipes in nuclear power plants, the effect of U-type pipe clamps and gate-type pipe clamps on vibration control is investigated. Firstly, the vibration test models of instrument tubes are established, and the vibration tests are conducted. Results show that, the response amplitude of the gate-type pipe clamp sample decreases from 0.79 to 0.56 times of the U-type pipe clamp sample when the excitation acceleration increases from 0.5 g to 1 g. The U-type pipe clamp has obvious abrasion marks on the pipe surface. The maximum scratch depth reaches 103.383 μm. However, the gate-type pipe clamp has no wear on the pipe. Then, the gate-type clamp which has a marvelous effect on vibration control of pipe is optimized and its vibration and wear performance are evaluated. It is found that the improved gate-type pipe clamp can effectively avoid the wear of both pipe and pipe clamps.
